In this 30 minute gentle flow you will be held in a safe space to surrender to self love. When you love yourself, you heal yourself.
In this one hour Hatha style of class, you will be guided to gently but profoundly heal grief from the 5 layers of your body being. For the physical body we focus on the heart and hips as this is where grief is often stored.
In this 52 minute Gentle Hatha class, you will be guided to connect with the energy of Gratitude. It is very important to cultivate this energy in your life. In taking the time to be grateful, you will not only attract more to be grateful for, you will also begin to notice the things that are already in your life that deserve gratitude. This is especially important when grieving to bring in balance and hope. I know this can feel challenging at times which is exactly why I designed this class for you.
Setting a clear intention is imperative in healing. In yoga we refer to an intention as "the rule followed above any other rule". Therefore, an intention is something that you are going to do no matter what. In this audio, I gently guide you to a place of total relaxation so you set your intention from a space of deeper awareness. Deep down, you already know exactly what you need to heal, In making your needs conscious they are more likely to manifest. I encourage you to make this a daily morning ritual.
In the 9.5 minute audio you will be gently guided to relax your whole self. When we relax completely, the body’s natural healing mechanisms kick in much more readily. You will be guided to relax all layers of you body-being (physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual) so that the effects are complete and lasting. Please find a comfortable place laying down on your back.
In this 5.5 minute audio, you will be guided to a state of present moment awareness. By clearing your mind of thoughts that are no longer of service and building the skill of mindfulness, life becomes more peaceful and balanced. Please find a comfortable seated position (whatever that looks like for you in this moment). The audio is open-ended so you can remain in meditation for as long as you wish.
Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) is a deeply relaxing practice with many benefits including (but not limited to):
I think that Amrit Desai sums it up nicely in this quote:
“Most of us try to solve our problems with the same mind that created them. Instead, Yoga Nidra helps you find solutions by transcending the linear dimension of logic, reason, and memory. In Yoga Nidra, shifts arise from the spirit (consciousness), which exists beyond the confines of intellect. In the linear approach, a rope wrapped a hundred times around a post would require being unwound a hundred times in the opposite direction. Yoga Nidra burns the rope rather than unwinding it. it allows you to resolve karmic patterns by doing directly to the root of self-destructive fears, beliefs and habits to regain freedom.”
In this particular practice we look at joy and grief as opposing sensations that can be felt simultaneously and therefore enhancing your peace with grief... bringing you back to a state of wholeness.
Please make sure you are warm and very comfortable. This practice is done lying down, perhaps with a small pillow or blanket under the head and knees. You know your body better than I do. Make sure you are comfortable whatever this looks like for you.
